Alex Marvez interviews Bill Goldberg

Q: The funny part is that it seems your WWE tenure got better at the end.
Goldberg: “Yeah, that was what was so strange. They started listening to me at the end and lo and behold it started working. Look at the elimination chamber match. Who do you think came up with me smashing the glass and doing this and that? [Chris] Jericho was a big part of it, I’ll tell you that. I’ll be honest with you: Everybody who was in that match with me, whether it was Triple H, who I never have really seen eye to eye with but now I can respect the guy in a way, or Shawn Michaels, who is an unbelievable ambassador to the wrestling business and an icon, or Jericho, who I didn’t get along with at times but the guy had business in mind, or a Randy Orton, who’s the future of the business in a way, or Batista … My idea is that Batista is the man right now. He should be the man and should have been the man a long time ago. If they’re smart, they’ll keep riding him.”
Q: Have you been watching Batista on Raw?
Goldberg: “No, I spoke to him on the phone.”
Q: Is he happy?
Goldberg: “He’s happier. No question.”
