Dave ruptured the muscle that holds the triceps to the elbow on his right arm. Right now he's doing "light rehab" (which he says is ice and heat) cardio and legs. Next week he goes to Alabama to start heavier re-hab.
He said he was "heart-broken" that he had to miss Wrestlemania. He was invited to go, but he didn't. He says he didn't even watch it because it "really hurt him in his heart" that he couldn't be in it.
When asked about Goldberg…there was a very long pause, and then a sigh. He says they're equal in size and intensity…but he's not sure what kind of shape Goldberg is in because he hasn't seen him since he left WCW.
Dave says he's in "constant" touch with Randy Orton. He says they don't cry on each other's shoulders, they try to keep each other positive, they motivate each other. He says "Hunter" came to visit them both in the hospital the night it happened.
"What are the odds we'd both get hurt on the same night in the same match", Dave said.
They [ed. note: WWE creative I think ] really want to keep the Evolution angle going. Dave expects it to continue when he comes back. He says he's not down at all…except about Wrestlemania. He seemed really "matter of fact" about the injury. but you could hear the hurt in his voice when he talked about Wrestlemania.
When asked about "Ang" [ed. note: Dave's wife, cancer free since Febuary!] he sounded really upbeat. He sounded proud of her and said, "She's great". He said she understands about injuries, she's "been through them with him before".
Someone from the chatroom asked "Who do you miss the most from Raw"…and he said "from Raw"…with the emphasis on it [ed. note: as if he was implying that he misses SD people more...LOL!] He said…Ric Flair, Hunter, Earl "Big Daddy" Hebner (he said they had a lot of "heart to hearts" and Stevie Richards…and "everyone".
He said the injury was the "worst possible timing" and "it broke his heart"
Next, Howard Finkle asked Dr. Tom about Batista…and about his OVW stay vs now. Dr. Tom said in OVW Batista had the right attitude, and tons of intensity, but that when he first came to WWE he was not confident.
All the while Dr. Tom was talking, Dave was in the background saying "yeah, yeah, yeah"…so finally, Dave says that he's getting his confidence now. That it was a "huge transition" between OVW and WWE, and he doesn't think people realize how huge it was.
He said…he was told he'd be out for 2-3 months…"It's already been a month, so I'll be back in about another month. I'm making faster progress then they thought, I'll be back before you know it"…
