DAY TWO OF WWE’S SMACKDOWN TOUR OF MANILA, PHILIPPINES

Here are the results of the 2nd Day Smackdown Tour held at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila.
The show started with the announcement of a big six man main event featuring King Booker, Finlay and Mr. Kennedy vs Lashley, Batista and the Undertaker.
Match # 1 Chris Benoit vs William Regal for the US title. Benoit won with the Crossface.
Match # 2 Brian Kendrick vs KC James. James won after Michelle McCool crotched Kendrick off the ropes.
Match # 3 The Miz vs Jimmy Wang Yang. Yang won with a corkscrew moonsault.
Match # 4 Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms vs Matt Hardy (non-title). Hardy wins after an STO/ Twist of Fate combo.
Match # 5 Paul London vs Idol Stevens. London wins after both their partners tried to interfere.
Match # 6 Chavo Guerrero vs Vito. Chavo wins after Vito tried a sunset flip off the ropes, Chavo counters and holds on to the rope for the victory.
Match # 7 Batista, Lashley & Undertaker vs King Booker, Finlay and Mr. Kennedy. Batista pins King Booker after a Batista Bomb.

Although the Saturday show was better, the six-man main event was very very good. All the faces got to do their spots which the crowd loved, especially when the Undertaker knelt down to give the Little Bastard a chokeslam and when Batista gave King Booker the Batista bomb. Batista, who is half-Filipino, got the strongest reaction, but the Undertaker had the loudest pop of the night. Lashley, Vito!, Mr. Kennedy and Benoit also had a great reaction.
After the main event ended, Batista draped the Philippine Flag on his shoulders and posed for about ten minutes, shaking the ropes and pointing to his tattoo of the Philippine flag. I think even Batista was surprised with the crowd reaction he got, as he ran back to the ring to do more poses and to applaud the crowd who was giving him a standing ovation.
It was a great year for Filipino wrestling fans as the WWE did four shows this year. I just hope it wouldn’t take another 12 years before the WWE comes back! From Manila Live Large! Peace Out!
